Read the two values#
Total value includes priced items for the selected game. Desired value includes items matching configured categories, collections and desired-item lists. The values can therefore differ for the same inventory.
Configure desired items#
In Settings → Inventory, open Desired Items and select the categories you need. The screenshot selects skins and knives; matching inventory items have a ★. Enabled games and the price source are configured in separate sections above and also affect the result.
Distinguish states#
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Private | Steam does not permit reading. |
| Empty | Steam confirmed there are no items. |
| Unknown price | The item exists, but no quote was obtained. |
| Error or 429 | Refresh is incomplete; saved data may remain visible. |
Saved data is shown first, followed by background updates. Check the save time when current availability matters. An unknown price is not replaced with zero.
