How it works#
Dota groups starts Dota 2 on your accounts, creates a party and invites players into it one by one. Each account hosts one group. While a group is open, the autopilot invites the next person, and you see the party chat and members. The section is available to the panel owner with an active subscription.
At the top are three tabs, Active, Bulk launch and History, and today's summary: active groups, waiting for an answer, accepted and declined. New group opens a group on a single account.
Active groups#
The left list shows open groups with search by account, member or SteamID. Each row shows guests, a pending answer, the time left and the latest message.
The group feed in the middle shows invitations, guests joining and leaving, and chat messages. The Перевод switch is shared with Friends. When the party language is not Russian and translation is on, your text is translated before sending. If translation fails, nothing is sent and the panel offers to send without translation. A message is up to 300 characters, Enter sends it.
The group panel on the right:
- Members: transfer leadership or kick a guest.
- Dota 2 actions: start a ready check and answer ready or not ready.
- Invitation: the current invitation with a timer and a cancel button.
- Invite out of turn: invite a friend of the account, add a list of IDs to the queue or invite one player by SteamID64 or profile link.
- Autopilot: how many guests to keep, the answer timeout and pauses between invitations.
- Group: when it closes, plus +10 min and a button to disband it.
If the group has companion accounts, Act as account chooses who writes in the chat, transfers leadership and answers the ready check.
Bulk launch#
In Bulk launch the form is split into blocks, with a pinned summary and the Launch button at the bottom.
- Settings template: save the settings under a name and apply them later. Account lists and SteamIDs are not part of a template. The form draft is saved by itself.
- Group hosts: the accounts that open groups, up to 200 per launch. Account lists can be saved.
- Companion accounts: 0 to 3 per group. They join the party by themselves and are freed for the next wave when the group closes.
- Who to invite: the account's friends with online and in Dota filters, a SteamID list up to 50 000, or Dota regional channels with a message.
- Who is in Dota 2 now: checks a SteamID list and moves the players who are in game to the invitation list. At least one account needs a Steam Web API key, see accounts.
- SteamID blacklist, group size and a main account that is invited first into every group.
- Timing and limits: answer timeout, pauses, group lifetime, closing an empty group, not inviting again for N days and the daily invitation limit per account.
- Chat greeting with variants separated by |.
- Check inventory on join: a guest whose inventory is below the minimum is removed from the party. An unavailable inventory is not treated as zero.
- Notifications: a sound when a guest joins and a tab with the Steam profile of each new guest.
After the launch the panel shows how many groups opened, how many candidates are queued and how many were skipped.
History#
In History, closed groups are read-only and show the close reason. The launch progress cards show how many groups are open and how many candidates were handled in each status.
